01 February 2005
The Foundation opened its 2005 season in sumptuous style with a guided private viewing for Friends and invited guests of a remarkable exhibition Northern Impressions 1800-1915 at the Hermitage Foundation in Lausanne.
The exhibition gave an exceptional overview of the wealth of painting talent which existed in Scandinavia during the period. Most of the artists represented are little known outside their native countries, and their work came as a revelation to the majority of visitors.
The event concluded with a convivial candlelit reception and cocktail, which also celebrated the recent appointment of Ms Juliane Cosandier, Curator and Director of the Hermitage Foundation, as a member of the Advisory Board of the Swiss Global Artistic Foundation.
