The goal of the filmmakers is to encourage and nurture the next generation of audiences, who will enjoy the arts in movie theatres, opera halls and concert halls, and who will relate to the innovative casting of up-and-coming young singer/actors.
In particular, two of the artists central to the project, tenor Israel Lozano (Rodolfo)—three-time winner of Plácido Domingo’s Operalia Competition—and producer/baritone Adam Margulies (Marcello)—a winner of the UNESCO sponsored Orfeo Competition—exemplify the pursuit of this goal.
The film is being co-produced by Alvaro Domingo, son of the legendary tenor Plácido Domingo, and eleven-time Grammy award winner, Rafa Sardina. It was directed by Jose Luis Cortés, whose previous credits include directing a documentary for Washington National Opera’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program, and photographing a documentary about the first year of the Youth Orchestra of America.
