Anne-Rose Smithuis was born in Switzerland in 1972. Trained in piano, classical dance, Latin and Italian, she completed coursework in Commercial and Marketing Studies at an international school of tourism.

Ms Smithuis worked in the marketing industry for four years before beginning a career in tourism and hospitality. Professional assignments include work as a tour operator and in the management of a 5-star hotel.

In May 2007, Ms Smithuis joined the Swiss Global Artistic Foundation as an Executive Assistant to its Founder and Director, Heather de Haes.
