Daniel Schiffman is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the dual categories of Corporate Law and Gaming Law, both unusual distinctions for a solo practitioner who limits his client intake to his personal workload. He is also designated as a Superlawyer, enjoys a long-standing Martindale-Hubbell AV rating and a biographical listing in Who's Who in America. In practice since 1962, Daniel Schiffman continues to build an enviable reputation as an outstanding commercial litigator, negotiator and business advisor, and has been appointed as a trusted guardian ad litem, court evaluator, mediator, special master, referee and receiver. He writes for and participates in Continuing Legal Education programs. Despite the diversity of his practice, Daniel Schiffman is arguably the most thoroughly experienced and studied commercial gaming lawyer in New York State. He is highly regarded in that strictly regulated industry, and is a member of the invitational International Masters of Gaming Law. Other fields in which he has worked during his 44-year practice include Advertising, Aviation, Economic Development, Labor Relations, Audio Recording, TV and Motion Picture Production and Post-Production, Probate and Estate Administration, Real Property, Judgment Enforcement, Workouts, Mental Hygiene, Fine Art, Entertainment, Corporate Governance (Business and Not-for-profit), Photography, Periodical Publishing, and Information Technology. As a former professional musician, Daniel Schiffman's civic activities gravitate toward support of the arts and encouragement of young people. He served long terms as Legal Advisor to the New York City Junior Chamber of Commerce, as an Officer and Trustee of the American Symphony Orchestra, and has been Music Chairman and a Governor of the National Arts Club since 1986. On the commercial side, he remains Founding President and Executive Producer of the award-winning label Cala Records. |
