Baritone Duncan Rock holds a Masters Degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and is now with the Guildhall Opera Course.
He grew up in Western Australia where he studied voice while reading law at the University of Western Australia. He won the 2006 Australian Singing Competition, and in 2008 took first place at the Australian Music Foundation Awards for advanced study in the UK. He won two prizes at the 2009 Mozart International Singing Competition in London and is supported by the Guildhall School Trust, the Musicians Benevolent Fund and the Countess of Munster Trust.
Duncan Rock’s operatic roles include Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro, Marcello in La Boheme, Papageno in The Magic Flute and the title roles in Don Giovanni and Eugene Onegin.
In concert he has appeared in the UK, Austria, Italy and Australia. Recently he was bass soloist in The Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall.
