Joe Giordano was born and educated in New York City. His four years at the School of Industrial Art included studies in Advertising Art, Illustration, Cartooning and Print making. At Hunter College he studied painting under abstract expressionist William Baziotes, and 2- and 3-dimensional design under sculptor Richard Lippold. Further training included costume, stage and interior design, as well as sculpture and art history.
He was an Art Director for McGraw-Hill Publishing, where he designed book jackets, magazine covers, editorial layouts and direct mail pieces. At Diner's Club, his responsibilities included creating advertising campaigns and promotional product development.
Freelance projects have included designing annual reports, greeting cards, logos, souvenir items, classroom posters and theatrical-themed products. His own photographs are often part of these projects. They have also been published in After Dark magazine.
Mr Giordano's drawings and paintings are included in many private collections, and have appeared in group shows at the National Arts Club, Pleides Gallery, District of Columbia Arts Center, Farrington-Keith Creative Arts Center and others.
As a partner in the Gallo+Giordano Public Relations office, in addition to providing clients with archival photography, he is actively involved in the writing and designing of press kits, print ads, lobby fliers and direct mail pieces.
Gallo+Giordano is the press/public relations office founded thirteen years ago by Mr Giordano and partner Bob Gallo. The renowned horn player Barry Tuckwell and The International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, formerly represented by Carson, were its first clients. The office has become a high-end public relations boutique which caters to those looking for specialized attention. Based in New York City, Gallo+Giordano specializes in promoting the performing arts industry.
