The music of Ernest Chausson is full of the passion, torment and energy characteristic of that significant period in French art history. Inspired by his work, Philippe Talec, Antoine Landowski and Boris de Larochelambert gave their first concert together as a trio at the Clairac Festival in 2001, giving birth to the Ernest Chausson Trio.

Each of the trio's members completed instrumental and chamber music studies at the Paris Conservatoire, under the guidance of Pierre-Laurent Aimard. The Trio then pursued studies in the Conservatoire post-graduate chamber music course as of 2004 with Claire Désert, Ami Flammer and Alain Meunier.

The Trio Ernest Chausson was a "Rising Star" for 2007-2008. That year they played  in the biggest concert halls in Europe as well as Carnegie Hall in New York.

First prize winners at the Joseph Joachim International Chamber Music competition in Weimar in November 2005, they have also been awarded numerous other international prizes: Joseph Haydn in Vienna in 2004, where they also were given the prize for the best interpretation of a contemporary work, Illzach in 2005 (where they won the SPEDIDAM prize for the best interpretation of the French work), FNAPEC in Paris in 2004 - with the Pro Musica Prize - and Château Beychevelle, also in 2004.

Invited on a permanent basis to participate in the European Chamber Music Academy since 2004, they have benefited from the advice of eminent chamber musicians throughout Europe. These have included Hatto Beyerle (Berg Quartet), Anner Bylsma, Gérard Wyss, Eckart Heiligers (Jean-Paul Trio), Shmuel Ashkenazy (Vermeer Quartet), Reiner Kussmaul (violin solo of the Berlin Philharmonic and member of the Stuttgart Trio), Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartet), and many others.

Owing to these outstanding results, the French Association for Artistic Action (AFAA) chose the Trio to participate in its "Déclic" programme in 2005, which includes a live recording at Radio France and international concert tours. The Trio also received grants from the Société Générale Bank and the ADAMI.

Since 2008, the Chausson Trio has performed extensively on the five continents, taking part in La Folle Journée in Nantes, Bilbao and Tokyo. Their three recordings - Chausson/Ravel, Schubert and Chopin/Liszt - have been awarded by critics (Maestro of Pianiste Magazine, Cd-Tipp of NDR Kultur).
