Prize winner of the Prague Spring, Rostropovich and Casals competitions, Sébastien Van Kuijk has given concerts throughout Europe as well as various countries around the world. The many prestigious venues in which he has performed include Rudolfinum in Prague, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Teatro Real de Madrid, Casals Hall and Bunka-Kaykan Hall in Tokyo and Concertgebow Hall in Amsterdam.

Mr van Kuijk has collaborated with composers such as Henri Dutilleux, György Kurtág, Thierry Escaich and Nicolas Bacri, who dedicated to him a Sinfonia Concertante for cello and orchestra. He performs regularly in chamber music with musicians such as Gary Hoffman, the Ebène Quartet, Augustin Dumay, Dana Ciocarlie, Cédric Tiberghien, Alexandre Tharaud, Bertrand Chamayou, Renaud Capuçon, Svetlin Roussev and Paul Meyer.

As a soloist, Mr van Kuijk has performed with orchestras including the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux, Orchestre Symphonique de la Garde Républicaine, the Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonie Orchestra, the Janacek Philharmonie Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, among others. He has recorded with pianist Dana Ciocarlie the complete Mendelssohn works for cello and piano with the INTRADA label (October 2009).

Mr van Kuijk plays an early 19th century cello attributed to François Fendt on loan from the French Instrumental Fund.
