At the Launch of the American Friends of the Swiss Global Artistic Foundation–“An Evening of Rachmaninov” at the Lotos Club in New York City on Sunday, May 20–we will welcome four fine young artists to the Foundation’s roster: pianists Andrey Ponochevny of Belarussia and Natalia Katyukova of Russia, the Swiss tenor Gilbert-Michel Rolle and the American accompanist Djordje Stevan Nesic. They will join Matthew Garrett, the American tenor, and the Korean violinist Hahn-Bin (accompanied by John Blacklow), who have been Foundation artists for some time.
The evening will commence with cocktails and a viewing of sculptural ceramics by the British artist Paul Philp. Lord Poltimore, Chairman of Sotheby’s (London) will speak on cultural and artistic trends in Russia during the Rachmaninov era and Dr Tamás Ungár, Executive Director of PianoTexas, will introduce the musical recital.
